HCA Publishers has published books since 2014. The first book was the beautiful “Hans Christian Andersen’s Adventurer” in collaboration with the talented Danish author Jørgen Haarder and the talented illustrator Kasper Heron Købke. The book has so far been published in eight languages: Danish, English, German, French, Chinese, Japanese, Italian and Spanish. The book has since received two awards; Klod’s Hans Prize in 2016 and the H. C. Andersen Prize in 2017. “Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tales” differs from other fairy tale collections by its richness of detail and hidden references to the life of the famous author.

HCA Publishers has since published a series of single adventures, illustrated by the artists from around the world, as well as a smaller collection of adventures, and more books are on the way.

Our hope is that children and adults will experience the world of adventurers together and that the stories will give rise to conversation about what the individual adventures will tell us. We strive to find the best artists for each adventure in order to convey the mood of the text and thus let our readers immerse themselves in the magical world of Andersen’s stories.
